Original Article By Bodil Garvik - (Translation by Sabine Clement) My Sunday As a member of Savoy, the Asane drummer won his very first Spellemann Award last Friday, together with Paul and Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy. Frode Unneland is also known from bands like Pompel & The Pilts, Chocolate Overdose and Unge Frustrerte Menn, as well as from a whole range of other projects. Bergens Tidene: "How was the Spellemann Party after the TV show?" Frode Unneland:"Great fun! But then, it's always fun for the ones who win. The affair itself was a bit boring, with a buffet and such, but I got to speak with a lot of people and had a great time! I left at 5am, just after Jan Eggum did, but I wasn't the last one to go." BT:" And how was the Sunday, then?" FU: "This Sunday was indeed a little special. We (Frode, his girlfriend and his six-year-old son) had a very long breakfast, with the Spellemann Award as a centerpiece on the table." BT: "So, you're the one who got to keep the award?" FU: "Yes, Paul and Lauren simply gave it to me. My son Adrian was so excited when he saw us on TV, not the least because I winked and greeted him, but he didn't believe it would be me who'd take the award back home. "It will be Lauren for sure, because she is more famous than you are, pappa!", he told me on the phone afterwards. BT: "And the other Sundays?" FU: "I enjoy playing Nintendo with Adrian, even when he punches me because I'm not as good as he is. It is fantastic to have a son of this age, because it allows me to do all those things I dream of, playing ice hockey and playing with Lego and such." BT: "And what about a walk in the woods or the land?" FU: "We do some walking, yes, in the neighborhood; that is, if we can take Adrian with us, of course. He namely has a lot of friends he enjoys to be together with. This Sunday, we may be visiting my father's grave. He died last Christmas. He was my biggest fan, and would have been very happy for us winning the Spellemann Award. BT: "Sunday's dinner?" "My girlfriend Randi prepares the complete meal. She is very good, in case she is in a really good cooking mood. We love eating cod we've caught ourselves. BT: "How do you like Sundays?" FU: "Actually, I think that Sundays are a bit boring. I somehow go and wait until the week begins anew. I'm probably a bit hyper."
