Morten Harket
Morten Harket was born in 1959 in Kongserbg. He grew up in Heggedal in Asker. Morten Harket is married to Camilla (nee' Malmqvist), has three children and lives in Oslo.

Morten Harket began to play piano when he was four years old, but stopped abruptly when he was supposed to start lessons with a real music teacher. At home he heard classical and serious music, and lived blissfully unaware of pop music until he was 16 years old. Then he heard Jimi Hendrix' 'Hey Joe', Deep Purple and Uriah Heep, became interested in pop and rock, and started a band.

Morten Harket wanted to be a priest, but stopped his studies at the Theological Faculty in order to practice with a group called Bridges.

Morten Harket, together with Magne Furuholmen and Paal Waaktaar, created the group a-ha in 1983. The video for 'Take on Me' took a-ha to the top of the Billboard charts in the USA, the first Norwegian group ever. Extensive tours and new hits established a-ha as a big name in pop.

Morten Harket is now well underway with his own solo career, and is writing both the music and some of the lyrics himself. By nature Harket is an artistic type, with interests that range from drawing and painting to orchids, butterflies, music and cars."
