![]() Bridges consisted of Pal Waaktaar as the guitar player and lyricist for most of the songs, while Magne Furuholmen played the keyboards, Viggo Bondi was on the bass, and Oeystein Jevanord was behind the drums. Their first drummer was Erik Haglien, but he was replaced by Jevanord. Their first and only album "Fakkeltog" was recorded and produced. Upon release, they did a lot of self promotion and financing. It was well reviewed in the rare occasion when it actually was reviewed. The music itself was heavily influenced by the Doors. It's described as being dark and pessimistic, yet deep and sophisticated. The music was quite similar to the style of the Doors, but also showed some pre-a-ha elements. Some songs included a lot of various background noises, such as various animal noises, doors opening and closing, among other things. Their style also included a lot of sudden mood and style changes within songs, sometimes turning a single song into two or three, and back down to one. Their story continued with the recording of a second album, which was permanently halted when thieves broke into the studio and stole various demo tapes, and Viggo's bass. Even though the stolen items were later discovered in a car by the Swedish border, Bridges had split up. Different plans for the band's future lead Pal and Magne towards England to be discovered, while Viggo and Oeystein decided to stay in Norway. |
