Original Article By Ståle Winterkjær - (Translation by Sabine Clement) a-ha's comeback album 'Minor Earth, Major Sky' has sold over 600.000 copies in Europe and South America. Now, the band will be 're-launched' in the States. The successful Norwegian band has signed a contract with the American record company Atlantic Records to distribute the album in the US. This is, by the way, the same record company which has the Lorenskog duo M2M under its wings. "It will have to be a major affair in the States. Our motto is: "Big launch, or no launch". But there is no decision yet as to when we will start working on the US," a-ha's manager Brian Lane says. It's also been announced that a-ha will tour both in Japan and Germany in November. It has not yet been decided whether there will be concerts in Norway. "We have not yet made up our minds about doing a full tour, or just a few concerts in Germany and Japan," Lane says, who emphasizes that if it will indeed become a complete tour, they will play in Norway. Success a-ha's new album, 'Minor Earth, Major Sky' has been a solid success in Norway and Germany, where it has already sold platinum. In Switzerland, Austria and Spain, the album has reached gold status. All together, that adds up to 600.000 sold copies. In England, reviewers boasted about the album, but in spite of that, it sold very little. Its best chart position was a shameful 27th spot. The guys are on holiday for the month of July, they will continue the PR tour for the new album in August. "I don't think they're holidaying in Norway. I suppose they are at some sunny spot," Brian Lane quips.
