New scene for a-ha By Ronny Oksvold and Ann-Kristin Loodtz 27.10.03 Translation Melanie Mousley A-ha's international reknown seems to recognise no boundaries. When the group took the stage in Siberia Monday, it made many fans happy. See a-ha on web-tv. After almost one year's break the Norwegian group started out on a mini-tour of Russia, and the interest is enormous. On Monday they played their first concert in the Russian town Novosibirsk in Siberia in front of an enthusiastic audience. Despite the fact that the concert experience cost upwards from 1,000 kroner - or one month's wages - the tickets were sold out. "I am very happy that I got the chance to see my favourite group a-ha," said one female concert goer to the Ice Sports Palace to Absolutt Underholdning. Excited The press has also shown strong interest in the group's Russian tour. In the day's press conference there were a whole pack of journalists from both newspapers, radio and television in the place. And despite their new surroundings it was obvious that the band appeared excited to actually be playing a concert here. "They have a bigger (traer?) than us, it's a bit crazy. But otherwise it's a fine ground to play on," says Morten Harket before the concert. To Trondheim In the course of the tour a-ha will also play in Kiev, Yaroslavl, St. Petersburg and Moscow. They will wind up the tour with two concerts in Trondheim under Uka 2003, on the 3 and 4 November. Translation by: Melanie Mousley
